JOB SUMMARY

The Material Coordinator at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for coordinating and supervising Truck Drivers in the efficient transportation and distribution of materials for all NMHS facilities. This includes planning daily courier routes, maintaining vehicles, equipment, and documentation, and supporting team members' professional development. This role engages analytical, organizational, and communication skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders, assess performance, seek opportunities for process improvement, and collaborate with team members to implement changes to ensure compliant, efficient, and accurate transport and delivery of materials and supplies across the system.

JOB FUNCTIONS

People:

Train staff according to their specific duties and responsibilities. The first point of escalation for staff in terms of any issues during shift

Service:

Coordinates the transportation and distribution of materials for all NMHS facilities; including, butnot limited to the linen exchange carts, both clean and soiled, supplies, drugs, food products, mail,linen, equipment, cash receipts, medical and confidence waste, compress gas cylinders, CSP cartsand reports in an accurate and timely manner. Remains responsible for maintaining a clean work environment, and organized files related to their area of responsibility. Coordinate daily rental equipment needs as it related to main unit and affiliate hospitals. Maintain daily log/ spreadsheet of inventory availability and equipment. Transport needed supplies from central warehouse to customer service area directly and with coordination with couriers and drivers. Keeps track of par level of equipment both owned and rental (pumps, vacs, and warmers)

Financial:

Maintain efficient records for supplies issued to departments for budget purposes. Optimizes inventory levels to ensure minimal expiration of supplies

Growth:

Remains responsible for assisting in creating, implementing, maintaining, and recommending departmental processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required Associate's Degree
• Preferred Work Experience Number of Years Work Experience Details Required/ Preferred 1-3 years12 months of experience in logistics, warehousing, inventory control, and shippingRequired Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required/Preferred Proficiency Must be computer literate, have good communication and customer service skills. • Intermediate Level (Medium) Must be accountable for recommending and assisting with the planning, organizing, implementing and evaluation of all processes involved in the transportation and distribution of materials to all of NMHS facilities. Selection Required
• Intermediate Level (Medium) Must interact daily with staff from all NMHS facilities, logistics tech., truck drivers, manufacturer representatives, and vendors. Selection Required
• Intermediate Level (Medium) Must have good communication skills, effective personnel management, remain calm and reflect a positive, caring attitude to all that we serve. Selection Required
