Job Title:
Logistics Specialist Job Description This role oversees end-to-end logistics for defense and government sector products, with a strong focus on military packaging standards, HAZMAT shipments, and sensitive electronics. The Logistics Specialist ensures all shipments comply with
MIL-SPEC
requirements, export and customs regulations, and internal quality standards while using electronic systems to control inventory, track shipments, and support production and shipping operations. Responsibilities Coordinate logistics activities for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials, parts, equipment, and finished products. Support shipping and receiving operations by pulling parts, equipment, and products, including handling items manually and with material handling equipment such as forklifts. Use electronic systems and software to maintain accurate inventory control, including monitoring, tracing, and tracking shipments. Work with exports and customs clearance shipments, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to regulatory requirements. Utilize Costpoint and Deltek systems, and adapt quickly to internal logistics and ERP systems to process orders, shipments, and reports. Essential Skills Recent prior experience working with HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule). Strong standard packing knowledge for both standard items and specialized products. Experience providing logistics, receiving, and shipping support for military, defense, and government sector products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment supporting logistics and shipping operations. Familiarity with logistics processes involving defense, government, and export customers. Comfort using multiple electronic systems and adapting to new software tools for logistics and inventory management. Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset when working with regulated products such as HAZMAT and defense items. Forklift experience or willingness to operate material handling equipment as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based primarily on a non-climate-controlled production floor, where you will work closely with materials, products, and shipping operations. Office spaces are climate-controlled and available for administrative and system-based tasks. The facility is in an older building but is described as a good place to work with strong, supportive teams. The position involves physical activity, including pulling parts and products and lifting up to 50 lbs, as well as operating or working around forklifts and other material handling equipment. You will regularly use computer systems such as Costpoint, Deltek, and other electronic tools to manage inventory, shipments, and documentation. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
