Transportation Engineering Coordinator Your Career, Your Community The City of Salisbury is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Transportation Engineering Coordinator. In this role, you'll perform

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the City's street lighting program, including citizen requests, lighting studies, new installations, repairs, and coordination with Duke Energy. Process street lighting petitions, including receiving and validating requests and communicating findings to residents. Develop street lighting designs using ArcMap and AutoCAD and coordinate installation and payment processes. Evaluate exterior lighting deficiencies at City parking lots and facilities and coordinate recommended improvements. Serve as the City's liaison with Duke Energy for streetlight repairs and malfunctions including riding night-time routes periodically. Manage right-of-way use permits and encroachments, including reviewing requests for compliance with City policies, standards, and permit requirements. Coordinate ROW and encroachment reviews with applicants, Engineering, NCDOT, utilities, and other agencies. Maintain records and track ROW permits and encroachments through final approval or resolution. Assist the Traffic Engineer to address sight-distance and traffic-sign concerns, including field investigations and preparation of work orders for vegetation clearing, sign replacement, maintenance, or installation. Review special event plans and provide input or develop traffic-control plans as needed. Assist the Traffic Engineer with intersection and pavement-marking changes, including designing changes in accordance with the MUTCD and preparing work orders. Create and coordinate work orders for transportation-related maintenance and improvements. Provide administrative and technical support to the Transportation/Traffic Engineering function, including preparation of Council agenda items and documentation. Receive requests, coordinate field studies and data collection, analyze findings, and recommend improvements related to Traffic Calming. Serve on City committees as assigned. Why Join Us? Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree with coursework in engineering or related field and some experience working on transportation management issues. Valid NC Driver's License. Ability to obtain IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician certification. Ability to obtain IMSA Roadway Lighting Technician 1 certification.
