Job Description

General Description of the Role The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, managing logistics documentation, and supporting transportation scheduling. This role serves as a key administrative and coordination function, ensuring smooth communication between internal departments, unionized employees, carriers, and external partners, while operating in compliance with company policies and applicable labor agreements. Key Responsibilities Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of materials and finished goods. Schedule deliveries and pickups in collaboration with unionized drivers and warehouse teams, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, delivery paperwork, and shipment records. Track shipments, monitor delivery status, and proactively address delays or issues. Communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments regarding shipment requirements and schedules. Support inventory movements and transfers between facilities. Maintain accurate logistics records and reports within ERP or logistics systems. Assist with freight cost tracking, carrier performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with safety, transportation, and company policies. Education Education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Experience 2-4 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain coordination. Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred. Experience coordinating with unionized drivers or warehouse teams is an asset. Software Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - intermediate). ERP system experience preferred (Epicor, SAP, or equivalent). Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) or shipping software is a plus. Skills Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and coordination abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage schedule changes and logistics challenges. Ability to work collaboratively with union and non-union employees. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. General Work Conditions Office-based role with regular interaction with warehouse and production teams. Occasional time spent in shipping or warehouse areas. Work hours aligned with production and shipping schedules; occasional extended hours may be required.
