Job Description
Production PlannerPosition Summary We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced Production Planner who thrives on challenges and embraces new opportunities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of finished products by effectively planning and scheduling one shift of production within a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining customer satisfaction by meeting published lead times and customer delivery requirements while balancing inventory and production capacity. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of finished products. Plan and coordinate one shift of manufacturing operations to meet customer demand and business objectives. Establish and maintain planning parameters within the ERP system to support efficient production flow and fiscally responsible inventory levels. Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments to optimize material availability while minimizing excess inventory. Utilize MRP/ERP systems to support effective production planning, scheduling, and capacity management. Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and production challenges. Analyze production requirements, capacity constraints, and inventory needs to support operational goals. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, delivery performance, and inventory accuracy. Support ERP system enhancements and implementation activities as needed. Communicate production plans, priorities, and changes effectively across all levels of the organization. Required Qualifications Previous experience as a Production Planner or Scheduler in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience with manufacturing planning processes. Strong understanding of MRP/ERP methodologies, including capacity planning. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP. Participation in ERP system implementation projects. Experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools. Knowledge of inventory management and production optimization techniques.
