Transportation Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

Transportation Specialist PURPOSE:

To develop meaningful relationships with the people we serve, their families and the communities in which they live. This means you are called to be creative and compassionate in all that you do: transporting the people we serve throughout the community and completing transportation related documentation and coordinating the proper vehicle maintenance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure the health and safety of the people we serve at all times. 2. Transport the people we serve to and from the Empowered Center and to various locations throughout the community. 3. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of related services, incidents, transportation logs and accidents. 4. Maintain a safe sanitary working environment for the people we serve and fellow staff. 5. Assist all of the people we serve to achieve greater independence using person-centered thinking and principles of self-determination. 6. Inform and assist Branch Manager in the continuous quality improvement of the services you we provide, the building we work in and the vehicles and equipment we use. 7. Perform any other duties related to Empowered Services as may be assigned by the Branch Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be 21 years of age 2. High school diploma or GED 3. Criminal Background Check 4. Drug Screen and Physical 5. Certification in CPR and First Aid. 6. Driver's License and Bureau of Motor Vehicle Driver History Review 7. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, critical thinking skills and creativity. 8. Employee must be physically capable of bending, reaching, transferring, assisting with transfers and lifting people who require physical assistance.
