Job Description

Vector Talent Solutions is a veteran-owned workforce solutions firm dedicated to helping organizations identify, attract, and hire top talent. We are currently seeking Material Representatives for our partner client within the Construction Infrastructure.
JOB SUMMARY
This role works under the direct supervision of the Materials Coordinator, learning the physical and systems fundamentals of yard operations before taking on independent tracking or reconciliation responsibility. The position is built for someone new to materials management or moving over from general construction labor who wants a defined path into a Materials Coordinator and Materials Manager role. Day to day, the Representative loads, offloads, sorts, and stages material in the laydown yard, supports receiving checks against packing lists, and logs basic transactions in ClearSpider or JDE under the Coordinator's direction. As the Representative demonstrates accuracy and reliability, the Coordinator assigns more independent tasks, including unsupervised receiving verification and cycle count support, as a bridge toward the Coordinator role.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
? Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn ClearSpider, JDE, or comparable ERP/WMS systems for receiving entries and material logs. ? Ability to read packing lists and purchase orders closely enough to flag quantity or item discrepancies to the Coordinator. ? Willingness to learn bills of material (BOMs) and construction drawings well enough to pull and stage the right material for a given work order. ? Clear verbal communication; able to report status, damage, or delays to the Coordinator without letting issues sit unreported. ? Availability for shifts up to 10 hours, with flexibility for Saturday coverage as project schedules require. ? Good physical condition, able to work outdoors in all weather and remain on your feet for extended periods; ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. ? Willingness to obtain and maintain OSHA 10 training and any equipment certifications required for the assigned site. ? Valid driver's license required; high school diploma or equivalent required, coursework or interest in supply chain or construction management a plus.
JOB DUTIES
? Reports directly to the Materials Coordinator and follows direction on daily yard priorities and material movement. ? Loads and offloads material from trucks within the yard or work site, and conveys materials to or from storage or the work site to the designated area. ? Sorts, re-palletizes, kits, and stages onsite material to support the construction sequence under the Coordinator's direction; assembles crates using hand tools and precut lumber as needed. ? Supports receiving by checking incoming material against purchase orders and packing lists, and documents apparent OS&D (over, short, and damaged) conditions for the Coordinator to verify. ? Ability to Operate and learn to operate heavy lift equipment ranging from 12k to 70k Tele-handlers. ? Enters receiving and issue transactions into the material tracking system of record (ClearSpider, JDE, or comparable platform) under the Coordinator's review. ? Notifies the Coordinator immediately of damaged materials, delivery delays, or shortages rather than resolving discrepancies independently. ? Assists with periodic and year-end inventory counts by physically counting and recording material as directed. ? Cleans and maintains the work area, machines, and equipment to support safe, efficient yard operations. ? As proficiency develops, takes on increasingly independent receiving, tracking, and reporting tasks to prepare for advancement into a Materials Coordinator role.
