Our client is a metal fabrication shop headquartered in Streetsboro, Ohio, running laser cutting, press brake forming, and shearing/sawing operations on the JobBoss ERP platform. The shop operates in a high-mix, quick-turn production environment where large batches of parts (200+ at a time) can be released into the schedule with short turnaround windows. Position Overview This is a newly created position. The Production Planner will own both the purchasing of raw material and components and the scheduling of production across the shop's manufacturing equipment (lasers, press brakes, saws) for their assigned area. The role is being created to take pressure off shop leadership and to help the company get more out of the planning and scheduling functionality already built into JobBoss.. Key Responsibilities — Scheduling & Planning Schedule and sequence production across the shop's manufacturing equipment (lasers, press brakes, saws) within the ERP system. Load new work orders and parts into the schedule as they're released — including large batch drops that require fast, accurate turnaround. Run daily schedule coordination with production leads; identify and resolve discrepancies between work orders and the production schedule. Partner with other planners and leads to keep cross-department work orders on time. Help the company build out and adopt more of JobBoss's native planning and scheduling capability, which is currently underused. Qualifications Experience purchasing raw materials and/or components in a manufacturing environment. Experience scheduling or sequencing production across multiple types of manufacturing equipment or work centers. Steel/metal fabrication background is a plus but not required — candidates from other manufacturing environments (e.g., plastics) will be considered if they have multi-machine scheduling experience. ERP/MRP system experience required; JobBoss experience is a plus, not a requirement. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-mix, quick-turn production environment, including putting in extra hours when volume spikes. Associate's degree preferred; an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
