Role Summary As a Production Planner , you will be responsible for developing and executing production schedules that optimize resource utilization, meet customer demand, and ensure on-time delivery. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and advanced SAP expertise (PP & MM) to support a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment. Competitive compensation (starting at $64,000) + bonus opportunity Above-average benefits starting the 1st of the month after hire 401(k) with company match Health & Wellness benefits including: Paid Volunteer Time Fitness Reimbursement Pet Insurance Tuition Reimbursement Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Opportunity to join a high-performing team in a growth-focused manufacturing environment Key Responsibilities Production Scheduling & SAP Execution Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand, material availability, capacity, and lead times Release and manage production orders in SAP aligned with the production plan Re-read and update production orders following Engineering Change Notices (ECNs); ensure timely closure Monitor daily schedule adherence and proactively address disruptions Review Work-in-Progress (WIP) levels and escalate when targets are exceeded Communicate issues immediately via email, Teams, phone, or in person Conduct regular shop floor walkthroughs to track critical and priority orders Monitor daily production plan performance and adjust as needed Collaborate with procurement and production teams on lead times and material flow Participate in production planning meetings Apply advanced analytics to optimize resources and improve performance Identify and resolve production issues proactively Stay current on industry trends and planning technologies Contribute to a collaborative and high-performance team environment Coordination & Communication Review daily production plan status and align with Production Controller and Operations Communicate order status updates to Sales in a timely manner Partner cross-functionally with sourcing, procurement, and production teams Material & Capacity Management Review "Missed Parts" list daily and validate material availability Escalate shortages or capacity constraints during peak demand Conduct weekly Work Center capacity reviews and address constraints Continuous Improvement & Strategy Improve production efficiency through data-driven resource optimization Lead or support process improvement initiatives to reduce costs and increase throughput Continuously enhance planning processes using best practices and new technologies
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
Proven success in production planning within complex manufacturing environments (high mix / high variability preferred)
Technical Skills:
Advanced
SAP PP & MM
proficiency (APO PP/DS preferred)
Expert-level Microsoft Excel Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Agile mindset with ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and collaboration skills Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work in both office and manufacturing floor environments Frequent standing, walking, and bending; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs Required use of safety equipment (safety-toed shoes, glasses, hearing protection)
