Job Requirements The Afterhours Associate is responsible for monitoring and supporting transportation operations outside of normal business hours. This position plays a critical role in maintaining visibility of active shipments, communicating with drivers, carriers, customers, dispatch, and internal teams, and identifying and addressing issues that may impact scheduled pickups and deliveries. The Afterhours Associate is expected to work independently, prioritize time-sensitive activities, follow established operating procedures, and take ownership of assigned shipments and responsibilities through completion. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, timely communication, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transportation environment.

WHAT YOU DO
Support all business needs within the Freight Brokerage department. Provide timely and accurate communication to customers both internal and external. Monitor active shipments throughout the afterhours operation using TMS and other established tracking tools. Obtain updated information for both pickups and deliveries and update that information in TMS. Take ownership of assigned responsibilities from initial review through completion or appropriate handoff. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and department expectations. Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
High School Diploma or Equivalency required Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn transportation management and tracking systems. Previous experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, customer service, operations, or a related field preferred. A detail-oriented, self-starter with a desire for growth and excellent customer service. Experience in effective planning & problem-solving, along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and have close attention to detail. Procedural mindset with ability to prioritize and efficiently manage high email volume. Ability to communicate effectively with customers via email and phone. Ability to perform, collaborate, and effectively work with others in a team-based environment. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP) is preferred
