Job Description

Material Planner/Buyer Please Note:
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Philadelphia, PA . Regular on-site attendance is an essential function of the role. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the work location or independently relocate prior to their start date. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Summary of Position:
The material planner and buyer is responsible for performing all material planning, supplier communications, purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies, lead time tracking and accountability, transportation coordination, internal communications of deliveries, delays, invoice payment follow-up, etc. This role primarily supports PEO Subs manufacturing operations by ensuring all materials are on hand to meet the production cost, quality, and production schedule and to support the operations team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Use MRP System to create and cut POs in accordance with production schedule requirements and supplier lead times Develop and follow a material plan to support production schedule Communication with suppliers- prints, specs, expediting, direction, etc. Purchase all needed shop supplies/equipment and communicate status Regularly document and communicate on material status Oversee material moving from receipt to incoming inspection to inventory Ensure parts conform to engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements. Ensure all material certifications, test reports, and inspection documentation is provided to engineering and quality Ensure parts conform to engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements. Initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) to suppliers Qualifications for
Position :
A. Education High school diploma or Equivalent Associate or bachelor's degree preferred B. Experience A minimum of 5 years of experience performing procurement activities in MFG CPM Preferred Familiarity with prints, manufacturing specs, equipment, machines, and systems Familiarity with manufacturing C. Skills, Competencies & Attributes Ability to understand engineering drawing Able to handle confidential information, establish priorities, and meet deadlines Ability to work independently and as a part of a cross-functional team Possess organizational, analytical, oral and wrtitten communication skills Knowledge of MFG practices and processes Needs to work onsite at all times (Located in Philadelphia, PA) D. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or large scale construction Experience working with fabricated metal products, machining, welding, etc. Familiarity with
