Jo b Su mm a ry : The Cost Control Specialist is responsible for supporting project teams by performing cost control activities for a portfolio of projects. Responsibilities will include validating and reporting project costs, calculation of cost accruals, and processing contracts and invoices. Jo b Dut i e s an d R e s pon s i b i l i t i e s: Work with all relevant project and discipline personnel to prepare project cost expectations and tracking tools. Understand all relevant project documents pertaining to the preparation of cost control plans and reports. Ensuring the integrity of accounting information and providing analytical services for transmission and substation projects. Monitoring, maintaining, and completing key reports and providing analytical functions towards capital projects utilizing data and other critical deliverables. Collecting, evaluating, and reporting Capital budget, project cost, work order closings and variance reporting. Initiate, monitor, maintain and close out of capital work orders in all legal entities. Create and analyze capital budgets, financial forecasts, reporting of actual financial results and variance explanations. Work with accounting on reconciling invoices. Assists in the preparation of accruals. Additional duties as assigned. Q ua li f i c a t i on s ( Kno wl e d g e , S ki l l s a n d Abi l i t i e s ) : Required Basic or Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or the equivalent required; Two (2) years of experience as a project cost analyst or similar role; Working knowledge of cost control software; and the ability to learn new software platforms quickly Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office software (Word, Powerpoint, etc.). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to learn new software platforms quickly; Ability to pay close attention to detail; Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels; Availability and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; Availability and ability to travel to client sites on occasion; Availability and ability to work overtime as needed based on project. Additional Application Requirement To be considered, candidates residing outside of commuting distance to the office are required to provide a cover letter regarding their intentions to relocate to the local area and that the candidate understands that there will be no relocation assistance provided. Candidate outside of commuting distance to the office who do not provide a cover letter will not be screened for the position. In addition, the candidate's location must be easily identifiable either on submittal documents or in the candidate's registration in our ATS.
