Our Detroit branch is looking for a new Sea Logistics Customer Care Specialist to join our Sea Logistics team. As a member of the Freight Forwarding team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimizing processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. As a Sea Logistics Customer Care Specialist, you will serve as a key connection between our customers, sales teams, international origin offices, carriers, and operational support teams. You will manage customer communication, provide shipment visibility, coordinate solutions across stakeholders, and help resolve service-related issues throughout the shipment lifecycle. ... How you create impact In this customer-facing role, you will serve as the link between customers, carriers, operational teams, and international colleagues to ensure seamless shipment experience and high levels of customer satisfaction. Serve as a primary point of contact for Sea Logistics customers. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful execution of ocean freight shipments. Monitor shipment activity, provide timely updates, and proactively address delays or service issues. Manage customer inquiries and resolve shipment-related challenges through effective communication and collaboration. Build strong customer relationships through professional, responsive service. Maintain accurate documentation and support continuous improvement of customer experience. What we would like you to bring We are looking for a customer-focused professional who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced environment. Experience within logistics or freight forwarding is preferred, but strong customer service skills and a willingness to learn are equally important. 1+ year of experience in customer service, freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations; Sea Logistics experience preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively support customers and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and coordinate solutions in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel. High attention to detail and ability to work effectively with local and international teams. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. This position is based in Detroit, Michigan and follows a hybrid work schedule of four days in the office and one day working remotely per week. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a target compensation of up to $70,000 , based on qualifications and experience. Compensation is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles.
