Job Description

Summary of Position Responsible for the purchasing of materials and supplies from assigned vendors in the most cost effective and timely way. Responsible for inventory performance including inventory turn, GMROI, inventory levels and service/in-stock rates. major areas of accountability Evaluate and execute the purchase of inventory from suppliers/vendors in a timely fashion to support in-stock targets while maximizing turns and minimizing aged inventory. Use daily and weekly reporting to assist in prioritization of buying. Maintain good working relationships with all assigned vendors and internal cross functional partners. Problem solves as needed to resolve issues with receiving, PO overages and shortages, vendor out of stocks, projected out of stocks and customer backorders. Negotiate with suppliers when needed to confirm lower costs for different MOQ. Ability to take the lead role on special projects that arise due to changes needed in business process or procedure. Attendance is an essential function of this position, and we rely on all our associates to be at work during their scheduled shift. May perform other duties as assigned such as picking up additional duties when requested requirements for position College degree in Business Administration or related field desired 5+ years purchasing experience, including experience with a computerized forecasting and purchase order system, preferably in a retail and/or distribution environment. History of strong negotiation skills in dealing assertively and with a sense of urgency with suppliers Excellent communication/organizational skills Ability to multi-task and work effectively with the pressure of time constraints and deadlines. Strong analytical skills Must be aware of product sourcing, favorable pricing, and new product developments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Must be a local candidate as this will be an in-office or Hybrid role
