Job Description

The Production Planner is responsible for developing executable production schedules, evaluating component availability and supply constraints, determining feasible work-order release dates, and releasing and maintaining work orders to support customer delivery requirements. Primary Focus Detailed planning, part studies, work-order management, short-term scheduling, and day-to-day coordination. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and short-term production schedules based on established priorities, customer requirements, materials, labor, equipment, and available resources. Perform part studies to determine manufacturing processes, routings, operations, and estimated labor or machine requirements. Create, review, and release work orders, ensuring materials, routings, operations, quantities, and required dates are accurate. Coordinate with Production, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Maintenance, and Materials to ensure work is properly planned and released. Monitor work orders and schedule progress and identify delays, material shortages, resource constraints, and scheduling conflicts. Adjust detailed schedules based on changing priorities, material availability, manpower, and capacity. Maintain accurate planning, routing, scheduling, and work-order information within ERP/MRP systems. Communicate daily priorities, schedule changes, and work-order requirements to affected teams. Provide schedule and work-order status updates and support the Senior/Lead Planner/Master Scheduler with planning information and analysis. Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, work-order flow, and schedule adherence. Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Experience in planning, scheduling, production control, manufacturing, or a related environment. Experience with ERP/MRP or production planning systems. Ability to understand manufacturing processes, routings, work orders, and production requirements. Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements.
