A Vendor Manager manages relationships with a company's vendors and oversees vendor procurements or sales performance. Manages vendor contracts. Tracks and reports on vendor sales performance. Manages procurement records and inventories. May assist with training provided to vendors to support product sales or services.
Our client is seeking a Performance Manager to oversee the performance and accountability of a portfolio of external legal service providers. A strong contender for this position will have all of the following: an advanced proficiency with Excel (think pivot tables), an analytical/big-picture mindset, the ability to have hard coaching conversations with vendors, and the ability to work in a job that involves constant pivoting and changing priorities.
DETAILS/DUTIES
Work closely with a portfolio of law firms, who are the service providers to this company in dealing with financial collections Analyze scorecards, KPIs, metrics, and performance reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement Utilize Excel and reporting tools to organize, filter, analyze, and present data Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned external partners Investigate operational issues and escalations, determining root causes and coordinating solutions Monitor partner compliance Develop and track corrective action plans for underperforming partners Document performance discussions, action items, and follow-up activities Adapt quickly to changing priorities and evolving business needs Travel periodically for partner site visits, industry meetings, and conferences as needed (2-3 times a year or so)
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred Advanced attention to detail with data accuracy Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including filtering, reporting, and pivot tables Experience working with performance metrics, reporting, scorecards, or operational analytics great Ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Experience managing external partners, vendors, clients, or business relationships preferred Ability to hold stakeholders accountable while maintaining positive professional relationships Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and proactive follow-through Comfortable handling difficult conversations and performance-related discussions Experience within legal services, collections, financial services, compliance, or a related industry is a plus Strong adaptability and comfort working in a fast-changing environment Able to travel by air on occasion throughout the year (2-3 times or so)
PAY/BENEFITS
