Job Description

Position Description:
Provides technical expertise supporting theater munitions planning, management, accountability, transportation, storage, and distribution operations. Conducts assessments of munitions readiness, inventory levels, stockage requirements, and transportation constraints. Supports development of operational plans, theater ammunition distribution plans, sustainment estimates, and logistics readiness assessments. Coordinates with Army Materiel Command, Theater Sustainment Commands, ammunition depots, and supported units to ensure munitions availability for current and future operations throughout the
CENTCOM AOR.
Core Duties and Responsibilities The Munitions Specialist shall: Provide technical expertise in theater munitions planning, management, distribution, accountability, and sustainment operations throughout the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). Analyze munitions readiness, stockage levels, inventory requirements, and operational demand to support current and future mission requirements. Monitor munitions availability, expenditure rates, and replenishment requirements to ensure sustainment readiness. Develop and maintain theater ammunition distribution plans, sustainment estimates, readiness assessments, and decision-support products. Coordinate with Army Materiel Command (AMC), Theater Sustainment Commands (TSC), ammunition depots, logistics organizations, and supported units to synchronize munitions support operations. Assess transportation capabilities, storage capacity, and distribution networks to identify potential constraints and operational risks. Track and evaluate munitions movement, stockage, and accountability across theater operations. Support operational planning, contingency planning, deployment operations, and exercises by integrating munitions requirements into sustainment plans. Prepare reports, briefings, operational summaries, and recommendations for senior leaders regarding munitions readiness and sustainment operations. Identify shortages, distribution challenges, stockage risks, and resource constraints and recommend mitigation strategies. Participate in logistics synchronization meetings, planning teams, readiness reviews, and operational working groups. Ensure compliance with Army, DoD, ARCENT, safety, security, and ammunition management regulations and policies. Maintain accurate records, databases, and reporting systems supporting munitions accountability and audit readiness. Maintain an active Secret security clearance and comply with all security requirements associated with the position. Perform additional munitions management and sustainment duties as directed by ARCENT leadership.
