KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review shop orders for shipping information. Type bills of lading to reflect customer requirements specified on shop orders. May call customer for clarification. Select truck lines (where not specified) based on investigation of rates and routes and upon previous service Determine weight and dimension based on catalog information. Consult other departments for information not contained in catalogs. Determine if non-standard shipping methods are required, and if so, contact truck lines, airlines, etc. for arrangements as required for special shipments, including contact with customers. Trace outgoing shipments as requested Perform other general clerical tasks as needed and requested (typing, filing, fax, copying, data entry) Pending plant location, may enter information for the shipping log into the computer, run reports, make copies of reports and distribute as needed Pending plant location, may organize bills of lading, review ship orders, enter data as needed Pending plant location, may complete export paperwork and documentation Act, Live and Behave by TCF Core Values. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent 2+ year general office experience and/or equivalent vocational training 1+ year traffic coordination or traffic assistant experience preferred Ability to work effectively with customers, vendors and drivers to provide information and resolve problems Excellent attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Proficient in the use of standard office software programs and equipment Export experience preferred Experience with dimensional loads and heavy equipment loads preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
