Pivotal Health Solutions is seeking a Buyer/Material Planner to join our team to plan, schedule, order, and monitor materials, machines, and labor to ensure that customer demands are met in the most cost-effective manner possible. The Buyer/Material Planner will directly report and work with the Purchasing Manager. This is a full-time position. Primary Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Review system-generated shortage reports and production requirements to determine purchasing needs. Issue purchase orders for raw materials including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, hardware, and other production supplies. Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and lead times. Monitor open purchase orders and communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules and order status. Expedite critical material orders to prevent production delays. Follow up with suppliers to resolve shortages, incorrect shipments, damaged materials, and quality concerns. Process item receipts and verify packing slips against open purchase orders. Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing, supplier information, and system data. Coordinate with receiving, inventory, and production departments to ensure timely material availability. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements to achieve cost savings. Review and reconcile supplier invoices, freight charges, and purchasing discrepancies. Develop and maintain positive supplier relationships while evaluating supplier performance. Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory. Assist in identifying alternate suppliers and sourcing opportunities for cost reduction and risk mitigation. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement and supply chain processes.
