About the Role The Demand Planner is responsible for supporting inventory forecasting, purchasing visibility, and operational planning across multiple brands and sales channels. This role helps ensure inventory decisions are aligned with business demand, seasonal trends, and sales performance. This position requires someone who can interpret large sets of data, recognize buying patterns, evaluate inventory movement, and communicate recommendations clearly to cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and capable of balancing planning responsibilities with operational execution. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain 12-month rolling demand forecasts using historical sales trends, seasonality, marketplace performance, and current business activity Analyze SKU-level sales patterns to support inventory planning decisions across multiple product categories and channels Monitor inventory performance and recommend actions to reduce stockouts, improve replenishment timing, and optimize overall inventory health Evaluate forecast accuracy and investigate demand variances to identify root causes, emerging risks, and planning opportunities Support inventory allocation and safety stock planning based on sales velocity, lead times, and operational requirements Identify and help manage aged, excess, and slow-moving inventory through ongoing analysis and reporting Create and maintain dashboards and KPI reporting related to forecasting, inventory performance, operational trends, and supply planning Collaborate with Buying, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Brand teams to align inventory plans with business priorities Assist with product launch planning, inventory transition management, and seasonal demand shifts Improve reporting processes, planning workflows, and forecasting methodologies to support better operational decision-making Maintain data accuracy across forecasting and inventory planning systems to support reliable reporting and execution Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, inventory analysis, supply chain planning, or a related role Experience working within retail, eCommerce, wholesale, or marketplace- based environments preferred Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting concepts, and replenishment planning Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and business functions Technical Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with Power BI or similar reporting platforms Familiarity with automation or scripting tools such as Python preferred Experience using: Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Seller Center Additional Skills Strong analytical thinking and decision-making abilities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Effective time management and organizational skills Clear written and verbal communication Ability to adapt within a fast-paced operational environment
