Job Description
We are looking for an experienced scheduling and inventory specialist to support plant operations in Tennessee. This is a 3 month long-term contract opportunity is suited for someone who can balance production planning, inventory analysis, and real-time coordination across manufacturing teams in an onsite environment. The role will focus on keeping schedules aligned with demand, improving inventory accuracy, and providing planning insight that helps daily execution and longer-range operational decisions. If you are in between roles and can start work immediately this opportunity is great for someone who would like to be employed now until the end of the calendar year. Fully on-site.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain production schedules by reviewing order demand, manufacturing capacity, labor availability, cycle times, and finished goods levels. Partner with production, quality, and supply chain teams to communicate schedule priorities, adjustments, and operational impacts throughout the day. Work closely with purchasing and raw material planning contacts to confirm materials are available to support scheduled manufacturing activity. Prepare daily inventory reporting, investigate variances, and identify likely causes behind count or transaction discrepancies. Monitor inventory performance to support lean stock levels while improving turnover and maintaining supply continuity. Validate production output, scrap reporting, and related system data to help ensure accurate operational records. Coordinate prototype builds, development runs, and other special production activity with program management and engineering teams. Provide capacity and planning analysis for plant leadership, including support for longer-term outlooks and annual financial planning. Participate in physical inventory efforts and assist with additional plant projects or operational assignments as needed. At least 3 years of experience in production scheduling within a manufacturing setting. Demonstrated background in inventory analysis, inventory counting, and hands-on support for plant floor operations. Strong ability to interpret production, forecasting, and inventory data to make sound scheduling decisions. Experience collaborating across departments such as production, quality, supply chain, engineering, and finance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, with particular strength in Excel for reporting and analysis. Working knowledge of direct material planning, delivery scheduling, and inventory accounting concepts. Effective communication skills and a practical, problem-solving approach in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline preferred.
