Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Clerk to join our supply chain team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities, coordinating logistics operations, and ensuring seamless communication with vendors and internal departments. Your proactive approach will help optimize inventory levels, streamline purchasing processes, and support the overall efficiency of our supply chain. Responsibilities Receives purchase requisitions and reviews for clarity, accuracy and completeness; initiates purchase orders to vendors and follows up on order status until completed. Prints purchase orders, places all orders via phone/email/online; electronically attaches all purchase order correspondence or notations; obtains prices, quotes, creates new vendors; assists in the preparation of requests for quotations and bids. Performs a wide variety of clerical duties in support of the purchasing function; responds to questions regarding purchasing policies and procedures; maintains files on purchase orders and requisitions processed. Maintains a variety of records and files for the Purchasing Department including vendor lists, purchase orders processed. Operates a variety of office equipment, including computer, calculator, fax and copier. Responds to phone calls, emails and other requests for information concerning the status of requisitions; resolves problems involving missing, broken or incorrect materials received; communicates with warehouse personnel daily and provides updates/revisions on all purchase orders; works closely with accounting department regarding many aspects of orders and processes. Shipments overseas, assure that ISF and documents are sent to custom broker Shipping line correspondence and their invoices, including arrival notices with fees assure they are forwarded to custom broker. Reviews invoices from custom brokers, verifies they are correct and submits to Accounts Payable for processing in system for payment when due. Performs other related tasks and assumes responsibilities as may be assigned by manager. Experience Proven experience in materials management or supply chain management within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Hands-on knowledge on system like Netsuit and Quickbooks Strong vendor negotiation skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective vendor relationships. Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis, reporting, and forecasting purposes. Experience supporting purchasing management systems technically; understanding of logistics, inventory control, and sourcing practices. Familiarity with contracts management, pricing strategies, and logistics coordination is preferred. Excellent communication skills for vendor interactions and internal stakeholder collaboration. Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
