SPACEPORT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
- TRANSPORTATIONThe role of a Spaceport Operations Specialist will be to provide leadership to the organization s housing accommodations, transportation, site amenities, and customer service activities. You will help develop and implement effective customer service strategies and training programs. The duties of Spaceport Operations Specialist will include but are not limited to: coordinating service operations, monitoring and motivating staff, ensuring excellent customer service, engaging with customers, hiring and developing talent, ensuring team is current with all mandatory company trainings, scheduling and payroll, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new staff, setting and upholding customer service principles. The Spaceport Operations Specialist will support the mission by providing a foundation of understanding for excellent customer service and quality of living and visiting accommodations that boost morale and productivity within Space
X.RESPONSIBILITES
Oversee Spaceport Village Operations including execution and organization of leasing/rental housing program, transportation, amenities, and eventsMonitor quality and consistency of Spaceport operations by setting and enforcing standards while inspecting and routinely walking areas of responsibilityTrain staff on customer service, anticipating guest needs and problem resolutionEnforce proper safety practices with staff and leadsCoordinate and enhance time management for teamMonitoring financial activities for Spaceport Operations strategically driving revenue and improving operating costsCreate and maintain in-person and online training materialsOversee performance management for Spaceport Operations staffAssist in all aspects of project implementation to build out Starbase Village as needed, including aesthetic industrial design improvementsProvide campus wide reporting on departmental spend, ticketing, and other metrics as requestedObtain multiple bids from competing contractors by creating scopes of workPerform job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managersCreate RFPO s and assists the buyers with vendor selectionEnsure purchase orders are accurate with no cost over runsPosition works closely with Spaceport Development Team, Facilities, Culinary and Hospitality teams
BASIC QUALIFICATiONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate2+ years of experience within the hospitality or operations industry
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience opening new operations and/or creating operational procedures from the ground upExperience leading a team within the hospitality or operations industryAdvanced knowledge of customer service and problem resolutionExperienced with Microsoft Office and OutlookExcellent communication skills both written and verbalExcellent knowledge of room inventory, housekeeping processes and guest serviceExperience in a corporate environmentProficient knowledge of human resources managementAbility to organize work for large groups in various service formatsStrong time management skillsExperience with high volume, complex multidisciplinary operationsExperience leading groups in large team settings of 10 or more staff membersEye for aesthetic industrial designExperience with facilities within an aerospace industryFamiliar with space planning procedures and operationsAbility to create and update RFPOs and facilities work orders in an ERP softwareAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to make independent judgments with limited informationCommunication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customersLogical and strategic approach to solving problemsAbility to read and understand basic floor plansComfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic directions

Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX locations for significant/extended periods of time as needed (up to 85% of the time)Willingness to relocate to Starbase, Texas with potential for shift work in a remote location
