About The Opportunity Manage purchasing, warehousing, cycle counter (inventory), and maintaining the production capacity plan that best supports the origination area in the plant. Analyze capacity, production speed, and lead times. Work with vendors and Master Scheduler to determine the best solution for the business to manage capacity, inventory and provide outsourcing alternatives. Move work around the network to level load plants and assets accordingly.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Analyze forecast data, annual usage and historical data to pre-plan for changes in volume and pre-plan activities to support changes accordingly. 2. Monitor plant schedules and review MRP results to ensure purchased components and inventory are optimized and available when needed. 3. Monitor plant schedules and open backlog to optimize weekly availability, lead times, and shipping attainment. 4. Determine optimal inventory levels to maximize service levels while minimizing costs and maintaining inventory accuracy. 5. Assist operations team in optimizing production flow. 6. Support and drive continuous process improvement in support of the ORBIS Quality Policy. 7. Other duties as assigned.Performance Measures and Outcomes:
1. Ensure acceptable supply lead times in line with asset base capability. 2. Maintain acceptable inventory levels consistent with business service and working capital goals. 3. Ensure timely asset/order moves to meet business needs. 4. Monitor schedule attainment and scheduling practices ensuring in-line with business goals. 5. Cycle count attainment and accuracy.Education/Certification:
Level Required- Bachelor's Degree; Description
- Experience may be considered in lieu of education. Required
- 3-5 years in demand planning or production scheduling. Desired
- 5-7 years in demand planning or production scheduling.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong communication and organizational skills. 2. Basic understanding of MRP, Material Master Settings, andSAP. SAP
knowledge and understanding is highly desired. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. 4. Proficiency in diplomatic communication. 5. Demonstrates effective multitasking and prioritization skills. 6. Demonstrates adept analytical skills for identifying and resolving problems. 7. Collaborate across internal and external teams to solve problems. 8. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills in collaborative work environments, utilizing professional teambuilding and communication abilities. 9. Root cause and corrective action skills to prevent outages and correct systematic failures. 10. Availability outside of normal business hours.Travel Requirements:
10-20% travel to support sites and projects.Hours:
