• A Supply Chain Intern position with Kiewit provides a hands-on learning experience directly related to the skills needed in a full-time career.

• Location
• This position will be based in one of our area offices or at one of our project sites across the U.

S. Possible initial assignment locations include Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; Houston, TX; Westlake, TX and Peachtree, GA. Candidates must be open to relocating as needed. • Responsibilities
• Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives
• Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings
• Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier's reputation and history
• Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes
• Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
• Design and present an End of Program Presentation to showcase your work and development throughout this internship
• Qualifications
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
• Genuine interest and passion for the field of purchasing/procurement
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time
• Team player with the ability to work well independently
• Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August)
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed
• Ability to maintain excellent attendance
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Preferred Skills:

• Technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Customer service and leadership experience

Base Compensation:
