THE OPPORTUNITY RS
is looking for a detail-driven and proactive Materials Planner to join our growing Materials team. That will be reporting to the Materials Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in keeping our production running smoothly by planning schedules, coordinating materials, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations. You'll work closely with Production, Purchasing, and Order Preparation teams to align schedules, manage capacity, and ensure our products are delivered on time. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop daily production schedules and winding lineups aligned with production targets and resource availability. Forecast production activity up to 8 weeks ahead and maintain a 4-6-week order preparation schedule. Collaborate with Production and Purchasing to ensure materials and inputs are available, and production plans align with capacity and delivery priorities. Generate and distribute production documentation, including work orders, load diagrams, and module templates. Track and analyze daily production performance using Excel and ERP systems. Monitor scheduling performance, identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, and support a safe, compliant manufacturing environment. Assist in other departmental roles such as auditing data inputs into ERP System, creating job packets for Hardware, completing shipping paperwork and scheduling of trucks. Work with Continuous Improvement Dept to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and ensure safe working environment by monitoring KPI's and contributing to process improvements. Serve as a backup to Buyer - able to place purchase orders in Buyer's absence.
WHAT YOU BRING
Diploma or Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, or a related field 5+ years of experience with production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment Strong skills in Excel and ERP systems (Epicor experience is a plus) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required) Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and collaborate across teams Physical Requirements The physical requirements listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, and tools. Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and occasional kneeling or crouching, as required. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work safely in the assigned work environment. Working Conditions Industrial manufacturing environment. Exposure to hot and humid conditions. Exposure to production materials, including limited interaction with manufacturing chemicals while following all required safety procedures and PPE requirements. Walking or standing on concrete for periods of time.
