JOB SUMMARY
Lotte Global Logistics (N.A.) is growing our intermodal business unit. This position will allow us to expand our existing footprint through performing successful execution of customer freight pickup, monitoring in transit movement and final mile delivery. Execution of daily performance will require a team-oriented person that is customer service focused and able to obtain a strong knowledge of systems and vendor capabilities. This position will assist all team members to ensure that the team works together to support the overall business to support our vision of the company. Primary Job Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include contacting and monitoring customers, vendors, railroads to ensure pickup and delivery of our company equipment for intermodal transport. Ability to nurture existing relationships and grow new ones as we pursue business growth in the intermodal business unit. To ensure timely, accurate updates across the organization for successful transportation service for our customers. Creates and issues work orders for load pickup and delivery; follow-up and reconcile receipt of dispatch orders Enter rail billing, trace loads on various railroad websites, and proactively notify customers of delays Procure equipment from various suppliers and coordinate shipments will all Class 1 railroads Managing daily and weekly rail capacity commitments as well as minimizing situations that will incur accessorial charges Maintaining strong relationships with our entire network of existing drayage partners to ensure continuation of superior service Ability to handle significant volume of phone and email communication Responsible for metrics that ensure costs are in line with purchased transportation goals Basic Qualifications High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred 3-5 years of logistics experience preferred Strong knowledge base of the logistics industry Highly proficient in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint and Word Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written) Detail-oriented person with strong organizational skills Timely communicate to management any problems or potential problems Able to work independently, make decisions impacting customers, drayage vendors and operations Miscellaneous duties or projects related to intermodal or other business verticals as they arise Ability to work as a team and develop new processes and procedures
