Job Description

We are looking for a Buyer/Supply Chain Specialist to join a growing automotive services organization in Texas on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position plays a key role in strengthening supplier partnerships, improving sourcing decisions, and supporting a dependable flow of automotive aftermarket products. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial judgment, hands-on purchasing experience, and the ability to balance cost, quality, and continuity of supply in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Build and carry out sourcing plans for assigned product lines to support cost, quality, and availability targets.
  • Research, assess, and select suppliers that can meet operational needs while supporting long-term business objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships from initial qualification through ongoing performance reviews and improvement efforts.
  • Lead commercial discussions covering pricing, contract terms, service expectations, and payment conditions.
  • Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities to combine purchases for better leverage and lower overall acquisition costs.
  • Monitor supply chain exposure such as tariffs, capacity limitations, and sourcing disruptions, then develop practical mitigation plans.
  • Compare domestic, nearshore, and international supply options to improve flexibility and strengthen competitiveness.
  • Review market conditions, quotation data, and cost inputs to guide negotiations and support cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with teams across engineering, product, operations, quality, and logistics to support sourcing projects and new product introductions.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier files, and agreement documentation to ensure organized procurement activity.
