Job Description

Position Purpose/Summary:
Oversee planning of the production value stream of WINDET products from raw materials to shipment. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Shipping and Purchasing to: Create and drive the schedule for providing product to best meet customer needs. Oversee Part Number and Bill of Material management for existing and new products. Identify and drive process improvement activities to reduce scrap, overproducing and over-inventory situations, and to reduce production lead times.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate with Sales, Production, and Purchasing to manage the production schedule: Establish priorities for manufacturing based on Production schedule and Sales forecast. Plan for spikes in demand, special orders, or potential opportunities. Provide lead-time information for customer demand. Coordinate repair or replacement of returned materials. Manage inventory levels and accuracy in the ERP system: Create and transact work orders. Monitor and reconcile inventory discrepancies. Establish and maintain settings for MRP or Kanban fulfillment. Coordinate disposition of non-conforming materials. Manage the Bill of Materials in the ERP system: Create & manage part numbers and bills of materials. Monitor and adjust costed bills of material for sub-assemblies and finished goods. Planning Process Ownership and Continuous Improvement Co-own department metrics such as revenue, on-time delivery, inventory write-off, etc. Co-own action plans to drive improvements in key metrics Additional tasks that may be assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years' experience in a production planning / materials control function or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hands-on experience in developing master production schedules and materials requirements plans. Demonstrated planning experience in support of high customer service levels in a complex supply chain environment. Demonstrated experience transitioning new products into production. Demonstrated experience participating in or driving improvement projects. Current
APICS CPIM
certification preferred.
Key Competencies:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position. Knowledge of VISUAL Manufacturing or a similar ERP system. Must be familiar with product construction and application; demonstrated understanding of manufacturing methods, techniques, and equipment as it relates to defined value streams. Must fit in and work well with all types of personalities and temperaments. Manage multiple priorities and easily adapt to changing situations. Computer literacy applied to scheduling and data management, to include overall Microsoft Office platforms. Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills using a formal methodology (PDCA, 8D, etc.) Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form in English Solid time management and organizational skills. Ability to coordinate with multiple departments.
