NSC Staffing has an immediate opening for a full time Bills of Material Specialist for manufacturing in a precision Sheet Metal Fabricating plant in Newport News, VA.

Shift:

Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm Pay rate: $20- $25.00 Job Summary Seeking applicants for a Customer Service - Bills of Materials Specialist role, for our sheet metal fabrication company. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. Manufacturing experience is preferred. The ability to read sheet metal blueprints is helpful, ability to learn is required. You will collaborate directly with Engineering, Customer Service and Purchasing staff. Some work may be performed in the production area. This position requires communication with our customers by phone and email, and is key in growing and maintaining customer relationships. Positive attitude is a must! This is a multiple task, deadline-based environment with a requirement for speed, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Duties Review customer Drawings and Documents, to create a Bill of Materials for new or changed customer parts. Create or Update the Bill of Materials (BOM) in database. Ensure consistency in raw materials naming and selections. Communicate with Vendors to determine availability and cost for raw materials. Research and update materials costs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines, materials, and processes. Create and update simple and complex spreadsheets. Export data and analyze, to compile reports for customers or management. Requirements Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Ability to read and interpret sheet metal blueprints. Excellent math skills including fractions, decimals, and algebra.
