Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and dispatch all flatbed trucks (flatbed fleet includes company trucks and a flexible number of outside carriers / owner-operators).
○ Coordinate with customers to ensure all necessary loads are covered. ○ Secure additional loads and trucks as needed to keep trucks operating at maximum efficiency. ○ Communicate promptly, professionally, and responsibly with customers, drivers, and loaders /depot operators. ○ Enter all available loads into dispatch software and monitor software for accuracy. ○ Communicate schedules, load information, and any other necessary information to drivers. ○ Review dispatch software and driver paperwork for accuracy; work with office staff to ensure all load details are correct for billing and payroll. ○ Be available to assist drivers with problems as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance / repairs with truck shop.
  • Assist with general duties across container dispatch, bulk dispatch. ○ Enter available loads into dispatch software. ○ Monitor dispatch software for accuracy. ○ Coordinate loading and unloading appointments as needed. ○ Help resolve delivery issues at depots. ○ Use dispatch software to investigate delivery history when necessary.
  • Coordinate with other dispatchers to learn, support, and help cover their roles as needed. Compensation
  • $65,000-$70,000 annual salary (paid biweekly)
