General Function:

V2X is seeking a multi-disciplined Intern for an entry level Field Engineer to support the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's Perimeter Intrusion and Detection System (PIDS) deployed at the metro NY airports. The PIDS Field Engineer works as part of a New York/New Jersey based System Engineering and Maintenance team that designs, builds, integrates, tests, maintains, and supports this 24

• 7 operational surveillance system. The Intern will interface with many areas of the operational system including computing infrastructure, networks and command and control applications. The selected candidate should be self-starting and inquisitive with good written and verbal communication skills and thrive in the challenges of working in an operational environment. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

Specific Duties:

Assist the maintenance team in troubleshooting issues with equipment failures in the field. Provide maintenance support of the primary and secondary subsystems. Provide support to technicians and engineering team with system maintenance activities. Monitor availability and performance of assigned subsystems. Provide engineering support for new projects and design changes. Perform integration and test of new sensors. Support logistics and warehouse activities. Support engineering with incident analysis and engineering investigations / bench tests.

Qualifications Experience:

Experience supporting logistics and warehouse activities Experience with troubleshooting issues with equipment failures in the field. Experience with Windows/Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Ability to obtain SIDA badge from the assigned airports

Education:

Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in a technical field (e.g., engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline)

Physical Acitivies:

Climbing up and down stairs/ladders, as required.

Location:

Then Internship is located in New York City / Northern New Jersey metro area and the Intern must be able to work from our offices at either the Newark, LaGuardia, or JFK airports.
