This position is responsible for managing and optimizing field inventory, ensuring accuracy, visibility, and efficient utilization across customer, distributor, and internal locations. It drives standardized processes, conducts audits, and resolves inventory discrepancies while providing clear reporting and actionable insights. The position also oversees returns and decommissioning activities, partnering cross-functionally to ensure timely reconciliation and accurate tracking. Overall, it supports operational efficiency and informed decision-making through strong inventory control and data-driven metrics. This is NOT a remote position and requires a daily presence at our headquarters in Irvine, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for Field Inventory (consigned instrument sets and units) Develop and communicate processes and procedures to control and ensure efficient utilization of field inventory. Perform regular annual audits and reconciliation of inventory held at customers and distributors. Develop and provide regular reporting and metrics of field inventory utilization. Evaluate field inventory levels and utilization; provide recommendations on optimal inventory levels. Review, research, investigate and resolve field inventory discrepancies and disputes related to transferred, returned, lost or damaged inventory. Facilitate all RMA inventory returns, following up on missing sets. Manage expired units in the field, facilitate returns, and provide monthly metric reports. Assist Customer Service with correct Lot# tracking to expedite processing. Product and distribute regular department reports to internal and external groups. Responsible for decommissioning process coordinating with AP, Sales Ops, CS, and Sales to ensure all inventory is reconciled once decommissioning is final. Perform stores code transfers to update and manage inventory accurately. Publish Department key metrics Dashboard.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong proficiency using MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Results-oriented, positive, "can-do" attitude with appropriate urgency and tenacious follow-up. Ability to work as a collaborative team member as well as independently. Excellent attention to detail, producing high-quality output. Flexibility and strong organization skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Applies sound judgement when making decisions and communicating with peers and management. Problem analysis and problem-solving skills. Experience involving customer contact and resolution of customer difficulties is essential. ERP experience, preferably in Expandable. Experience developing and transforming a processes and procedures to drive efficiencies and improvement.
