Job Description

Materials Analyst - 8:00AM - 4:30PM M-F Summary The Materials Analyst is responsible for purchasing direct and indirect materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely material availability to support manufacturing operations. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Strategic Procurement to optimize supply chain performance, resolve material issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has experience with ERP/MRP systems, supplier management, and procurement. Essential Responsibilities Create and manage purchase orders for materials and services using SAP/ERP. Monitor open purchase orders, expedite deliveries, and communicate supplier updates. Maintain purchasing data including pricing, lead times, and supplier information. Manage MRP exception messages, including expedites, reschedules, and cancellations. Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Suppliers to resolve shortages and delivery issues. Evaluate supplier quotes and support cost reduction initiatives. Track procurement KPIs, including on-time delivery, cost savings, and supplier performance. Support new product introductions by sourcing materials and coordinating supplier samples. Assist with supplier performance reviews and identify supply chain risks. Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies. Participate in Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, and inventory replenishment. Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems preferred. Experience supporting engineering, product launches, or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus. Skills Proficient in SAP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP). Knowledge of MRP, inventory planning, purchasing processes, and supplier management. Familiarity with ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S principles preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple priorities. Working Conditions Office environment with regular interaction on the manufacturing floor. PPE required when entering production areas. Frequent computer and ERP system use in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use of hands. Lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Ability to distinguish fine details and colors and perform visual inspections. Travel Up to 10% domestic travel for supplier visits and internal meetings. Occasional international travel (less than 5%) based on business needs.
