Position Purpose :
Under limited supervision perform material analysis activities in support of experimental, structural, and/or flammability testing.
Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Perform various administrative, engineering support, and liaison functions relating to analyzing and initiating procurement and material flow related action with Engineering, Dispatchers, Warehouse Operations, Suppliers, and Test Engineering . Work closely with external customers to coordinate timely and accurate resolutions to support internal Experimental Test personnel . Solicits quotes, conducts bid evaluations, evaluates costs, negotiates optimum delivery schedules and ensures the best combination of price, quantity discount, product quality, standard terms and conditions (MOAs), and where appropriate . Preparation and communication of purchase requisitions of mission critical components, balancing production requirements, inventory objectives and material acquisition costs . Assists Manufacturing Engineers with SAP Material Master creation and enrichment . Completes Solumina Data Collect entries and Buyoffs for Materials Operations .
Additional Functions:
Completes Solumina Data Collect entries and Buyoffs for Materials Operations . Conducts meetings to update and maintain status of project materials and parts . Mentors subordinates . Create, update and maintain department procedures on current or new processes . Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
Experience in inventory processes and control of all types of materials preferred. Experience in manufacturing shop floor material control or warehousing preferred. Experience in a test, labs, or related environment preferred. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
