Kawasaki Precision Machinery, (U.S.A.), Inc., headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI and a division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Analyst. This position with primary responsibilities to manage inbound flow of parts and materials as well as managing inventory levels to meet customer and business needs. This position also works with freight companies ensuring shipments are running smoothly. The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for managing the inbound flow of parts and materials and maintaining inventory levels to support customer and business needs. This position works closely with internal teams and freight carriers to ensure shipments are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with production planning and operations to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules Coordinate and track inbound shipments from the UK and Japan Maintain accurate logistics information in company ERP system Maintain communication with Japan utilizing the CFA Report Receiving inventory in company ERP System from international and domestic shipments Manage freight bills as part of the bill approval process Assist with filing importing records and maintaining the company filing systems Monitor all tariff issues, material documentation, customs and COO Advise on HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) code classification Create compliance manual Review processes for ISO Standards compliance Evaluate Freight Forwarders and make recommendations on best partnerships Work with freight partners and internal teams to identify cost savings opportunities Lead continuous improvement efforts to strengthen supply chain performance Support all purchasing aspects of motors and parts from Japan Manage inventory levels on assigned materials Analyze demand, forecasts, and purchasing history to determine appropriate inventory levels Monitor and adjust safety stock levels, order quantities, and replenishment timing Execute purchasing activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives
Qualifications:
5+ year related experience in logistics, purchasing and/or supply chain Knowledge of HTS Codes & Tariffs Experience in a purchasing role Experience working with Freight companies Knowledge of tariffs and international shipping Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Good interpersonal skills, and work well in team environment Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
