Supply Chain Procurement Analyst

Job Description

PRIMARY JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is focused on supporting the operations department through planning and procurement of materials for production. This role works closely with raw material and packaging suppliers to achieve critical business objectives. This role will identify and measure inefficiencies and costs to determine how to improve the supply chain and create strategies for improvement with the objectives to maintain inventory target inventory levels and supply continuity, while meeting cost targets.
  • This is a daily report to plant position and is not remote/hybrid.
Responsibilities:
Determine material ordering needs based on analysis of customer forecasts, production plan, on-hand inventory, and scrap rates. Create and issue material purchase orders. Maintain Material Ordering SOP with latest pricing, vendor contact info, and ordering instructions. In conjunction with the Commercialization team, support sourcing and quoting new material requirements. In conjunction with the Inventory Control Manager, oversee adjustments from inventory cycle counts. In conjunction with Finance, onboard and setup new vendors. In conjunction with the Quality team, maintain records, specs, audit reports, and other necessary materials from vendors. Tracks and reports on expired and obsolete inventory. Oversees disposition of obsolete inventory. Analyze data to determine areas for performance improvement or cost reduction. Seeks to improve the materials supply chain by reviewing current methodology and processes. Create reports to assist with strategic business decisions and project planning. Foster trusting relationships with business partners. Supports daily operations department activities. Utilizes data and analytics to enhance business performance and make informed decisions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
Expert user of Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics NAV). Analytical mind with business acumen. Problem-solving aptitude. Attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Outstanding organizational ability. Prior project management experience a plus. 9. Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal. 10. Proficient in delivering compelling presentations to update leadership on status. 11. Understanding of financial and accounting principles, as well as operational support. 12. Displays agility and adaptability when faced with challenges and adjusts approach as needed. 13. Encourages collaboration and partnership among teams and departments. 14. Demonstrates excellent business acumen and proficient problem-solving skills. 15. Perform other duties as assigned by management, including providing operational support such as assisting with packing on production lines as needed to meet production demands.
Education / Training

License Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, operations, logistics, a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years' experience in Supply Chain and/or purchasing.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works around food production equipment and moving mechanical parts and may occasionally work near cutting tools. The position is performed in a manufacturing environment where wet or humid conditions may be present due to routine cleaning and sanitation activities. Employees may have limited exposure to standard cleaning and sanitation chemicals used in food production. This role may require climbing ladders or stairs and working in areas where noise levels are moderate to high. Temperature conditions in certain production areas may be warm due to equipment operation and the manufacturing process.
