57437BR Quality Department Assistant General Atomics Tupelo Mississippi Job Summary GA's Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group focuses on the military and commercial applications of advanced electromagnetic technologies, including power generation and distribution, magnetic levitation, laser and weapons systems, and systems design and engineering. The EMS Group supports government customers, which include the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, the Department of Transportation as well as a range of commercial customers. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Tupelo! Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of activities in support of functional areas such as quality, material control, and material planning, for one or more project/business/technical units. Following detailed instructions on new assignments, this position will perform manual and clerical tasks to coordinate the flow of incoming materials through inspection, stockroom, and production areas. The role supports accurate receipt, verification, and documentation of materials by counting, weighing, and tracking items; ensuring required traceability information is present; and working closely with Material Control and QA Receiving personnel to facilitate proper receiving, identification, and routing of materials. Maintains, processes, reviews, and compiles a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and hard copy reports, records, timelines, tables, correspondence, and presentations, which require tact and discretion in handling. Provides data and information requiring some explanation or interpretation. Primary contacts are within the department with occasional contact with management and representatives of outside organizations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates with various departments to support material requirements. Reviews and monitors material receipts to ensure full traceability of all materials and parts. Gathers, collects, records, tracks, verifies data and information from multiple sources. Reviews material requisitions issued to the stockroom to ensure material is properly allocated. Identifies, reports, and assists in investigating material traceability issues and discrepancies on the shop floor. Examines received items and verifies conformance to applicable customer requirements, quality clauses, and receiving procedures. Processes and transfers material paperwork upon receipt of goods or after appropriate approval of part and ensures damaged or excess goods are routed through Quality Assurance and/or appropriate management. Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information and updates a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and/or hard copy reports and records. Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources. Prepares requested electronic and hard copy reports, and presentations. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required. Job Qualifications Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of experience in a field related to the specialized functional area or unit where assigned. Must demonstrate a broad understanding of assigned functional area principles, theories, and concepts.Must possess:
the ability to grasp new concepts quickly; the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; strong organization skills and the ability to establish priorities; the ability to identify issues and solve routine problems; good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document and report; full knowledge of computer operations and applications.
