Job Description
Logistics Intern Position Summary Vertiv is seeking a Logistics Intern to support the Transportation team with data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Americas region. This internship provides hands-on experience in transportation operations, logistics analytics, carrier management, and supply chain processes. The intern will work closely with Logistics, Procurement, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to help improve operations, visibility, data quality, and transportation performance. This role is ideal for a student interested in supply chain management, logistics, data analytics, and process improvement. Responsibilities Assist with collecting, analyzing, and consolidating logistics data, including freight spend, carrier performance, and service metrics. Help develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to support transportation performance management. Partner with Logistics, Procurement, Operations, Master Data, and other stakeholders on process improvement and reporting activities. Support carrier performance monitoring and reporting related to delivery, transit times, capacity, and transportation costs. Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on operational efficiency and process standardization. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training materials. Present findings and recommendations to logistics team members and stakeholders as appropriate. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment. Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn logistics and transportation operations. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI. Coursework or project experience involving data analysis, logistics, supply chain, or operations management. Familiarity with process mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart. Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable recommendations. English language proficiency required; Spanish language skills are a plus. Education Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
