El Reno, OK Job Summary:
Materials Coordinators play a critical role in the organization by ensuring the timely flow and delivery of parts and materials between shipping/receiving and the manufacturing line to support the production schedule. This is a very hands-on, fast-paced position that requires a developed capability of time management and prioritizing skills. Utilizing material management software programs this position coordinates the daily acquisition of parts to ensure that the assigned manufacturing lines have the right parts and materials, at the right time, and at the right place to prevent any production slow-downs or stoppages.
Responsibilities:
Acts as a liaison between manufacturing, purchasing, and warehousing to identify and order the parts and materials needed to support production schedule demands. In advance of the weekly production schedule, produces the Warehouse Delivery Report to coordinate the delivery of the required parts and materials to support production demands. Frequently coordinates with internal contacts in assigned production facility to ensure all parts and materials are ordered and delivered in advance of the production schedule. Based on production demands, utilizes inventory tracking and database management software programs to research, record and acquire necessary production materials. Utilizes cycle and Kanban counts to determine material demands (such as bumper and extrusion) in advance of weekly production schedule to drive material orders. Responding timely to internal requests (phone, email, in-person), this role fulfills ad-hock parts and material requests, following each through to completion. Utilizes trailer manufacturing knowledge and research to recommend replacement parts as needed. Monitors the trailer Bill of Material and ensures internal inventory control procedures are enforced including material discrepancies, cycle counts, scrap/defective material disposition, substitutions, and job-costed inventory. Develops, analyzes, and cycles counts inventory in plant's raw material locations to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained. Works with internal contacts to identify/dispose of non- or slow-moving inventory within the plants, communicating with line management on any questions and/or issues with material inventory. Additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of production control, inventory control or related experience is desired. Highly developed computer proficiency, including internet research and data entry skills. Fluent with MS Office suite with good familiarity using Word and Excel. Ability to understand and interpret prints, Bills of Material (BOM's) and part list drawings. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated organizational ability with a highly developed attention to detail. Able to work independently and as a team member. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to build and foster positive internal work relationships.
