Permanent Director of Inventory Planning & Optimization $165,000 Base + Bonus Hybrid | Cherry Hills NJ Our client is a global B2B manufacturer with a complex international supply chain and thousands of active SKUs. As the business continues to invest in data-driven operations, they're looking to hire a Director of Inventory Planning & Optimization to modernize inventory strategy, introduce scalable analytics, and build a best-in-class planning function. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys combining supply chain expertise with advanced analytics . You'll inherit a small team with significant scope to expand, implement new processes, and influence executive decision-making across a global organization. The Role Reporting into the VP of Supply Chain, you'll own inventory planning strategy across a large product portfolio while developing the analytical capabilities that drive forecasting, replenishment, and inventory optimization. This role is ideal for someone who has led inventory planning within a complex manufacturing or distribution environment and is comfortable leveraging data to improve operational performance. What You'll Be Doing Develop and execute enterprise-wide inventory planning and optimization strategies Build scalable reporting and dashboards to improve inventory visibility and decision-making Use statistical analysis to improve forecasting accuracy and inventory health Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Analytics teams to drive business decisions Lead inventory optimization initiatives across multiple distribution locations Develop KPIs and performance metrics around service levels, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, and working capital Build and mentor a growing inventory planning team Influence executive stakeholders through data-driven recommendations Support ongoing supply chain transformation initiatives and process improvements What We're Looking For 10+ years of experience across inventory planning, demand planning, supply chain, or inventory optimization Experience managing complex SKU portfolios within manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or other product-based environments Strong analytical background with the ability to translate data into business decisions Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar BI tools Strong SQL skills preferred Experience working with ERP systems (SAP or similar) Knowledge of forecasting methodologies, inventory optimization, and statistical analysis Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders Bachelor's degree required Nice to Have ABC inventory segmentation Forecasting for low-volume or difficult-to-predict products Inventory optimization modelling Supply chain network or multi-site planning experience Experience supporting ERP or planning system implementations Why Apply?
