Compound Manager Location:
Cambridge, Massachusetts (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
We are partnering with a leading scientific organization seeking a Compound Manager to support discovery research operations through accurate compound registration, inventory control, and cross-functional coordination. This position plays a critical role in protecting sample integrity, improving data quality, and enabling efficient project execution across internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities:
Register newly synthesized and externally sourced compounds in the electronic compound database and maintain complete, accurate metadata. Manage inventory, distribution, and shipment workflows to ensure timely availability of research materials and compliant transfers. Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training materials while supporting investigations into inventory, labeling, shipping, or database discrepancies. Partner with medicinal chemistry, biology, DMPK, analytical sciences, informatics, CROs, and vendors to support compound management workflows and continuous improvement.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline; an M.S. or equivalent experience is preferred. At least 3 years of relevant experience in compound management, medicinal chemistry support, pharmaceutical research operations, or a related scientific environment. Hands-on experience with compound registration platforms, electronic laboratory systems, and inventory management databases. Experience working with external CROs, vendors, or compound logistics networks, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database or inventory-tracking applications.
