Job Description
Summary:
Valve Solutions is seeking a motivated Buyer to support the Logistics and Materials teams in optimizing the procurement, production planning, inventory control, and logistics processes for our valve product lines. These valves play a critical role in meeting customer needs and evolving market demands. Under general supervision, this role will contribute to cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance analysis, and inventory optimization strategies across various valve types, including trunnion-mounted ball valves, gate, globe, check, and floating ball valves. The Buyer will gain hands-on experience using manufacturing and business systems for supply chain planning, sourcing support, and materials management. Additional responsibilities include collecting and analyzing supply chain data, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and successfully completing assigned projects that improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer service levels. Prepare routine and special reports as required. Position performs basic/repetitive tasks following company established procedures. Handles special projects, as assigned. Job Duties/Responsibilities Purchasing material for assigned inventory and non-stock items. Investigating and determining what/how/why material came in incorrectly or damaged. Reviewing min-max or order inventory stock levels. Assist with procurement and supplier coordination, including issuing RFQs and tracking deliveries. Support inventory management and material planning processes to ensure optimal stock levels. Analyze data to generate insights on supplier performance, cost trends, and logistics efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve lead times, reduce excess inventory, and enhance workflow. Help maintain accurate records in ERP systems and generate reports as needed. Skills/Knowledge Good communication skills. Good negotiation skills. Good organizational skills. Basic analytical skills. Knowledge of purchasing practices, principles and procedures. Exposure to customer and vendor interactions and real-world problem-solving is expected. Demonstrate experience with Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and Word. Familiarity with ERP systems (Business Central, or similar) and data analysis tools is a plus. Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience Entry Level.
