Job Details Mine Closure and Permitting Consultant Anchorage, AK, USA SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector. We are seeking a Mine Closure and Permitting Consultant.
Description of Responsibilities:
To consult on projects for Alaska and North American clients, with some travel Manage and execute technical studies, closure plans, reclamation plans, permit applications, cost estimates, and other project deliverables. Develop project scopes, work plans, schedules, budgets, and proposals and manage projects through successful completion. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, and other technical specialists. Conduct site inspections, technical evaluations, environmental audits, and due diligence reviews. Coordinate with mining clients, contractors, and state and federal regulatory agencies. Prepare technical reports, memoranda, presentations, and supporting documentation. Support business development activities and contribute to maintaining and growing client relationships.
Essential Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in engineering, environmental science, geology, mine engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in mining, engineering consulting, environmental consulting, civil infrastructure, mine operations, or related industries. Demonstrated experience managing technical projects, including responsibility for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, technical deliverables, and client communications. Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with mine closure, reclamation, environmental permitting, cost estimating, or other mining-related projects. Knowledge of Alaska mining regulations, federal environmental permitting programs and regulatory agency coordination.
