Job Description
Job Details The Blue Moon Mine is seeking an experienced and dynamic Mine Manager to lead our mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the mine's performance, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and environmental stewardship. Reporting to Project Manager, the Mine Manager will provide strategic direction, supervise departmental teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Direct and manage the overall operations of Blue Moon Mine, including production, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance. Develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and schedules to achieve production targets and optimize resource utilization. Ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local mining regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, promoting professional development and a strong safety culture. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and initiate corrective actions as needed to address variances in production or safety. Collaborate with engineering, geology, and environmental departments to support mine planning and development projects. Collaborate with mining contractor to ensure underground progress is as planned? Oversee the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and best practices to improve efficiency and sustainability. Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, safety, and compliance to senior management. Manage stakeholder relationships, including with regulators, Indigenous communities, suppliers, and local authorities. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field; advanced degree or professional designation (P.Eng., PMP) considered an asset. Minimum of 12 years' progressive experience in mining operations, including at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or management role. Comprehensive knowledge of California mining regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and environmental management practices. Proven leadership, team-building, and communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, projects, and operational risk. Experience working with Local communities and understanding of local cultural and environmental considerations is an asset.
