Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE
The Technical Services Superintendent leads and coordinates the safe, efficient, and effective execution of mining activities while overseeing all Mine site technical departments, including Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Surveying. Superintendents at Eagle connect strategy to action, turning site goals into achievable operational plans. They create clarity for Supervisors, build teamwork across departments, and support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Their leadership directly impacts performance, engagement, and operational outcomes.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
Provide direction, guidance, and support to Supervisors and other direct reports for effective daily execution. Promote teamwork, communication, and alignment across shifts and crews. Coach Supervisors in leadership, planning, and performance management. Recognize and reinforce desired behaviors and cultural standards. Encourage innovation, ownership, and employee participation in problem-solving. Ensure effective two-way communication between front-line teams and site leadership. Demonstrate visible safety leadership in the field. Identifying obstacles and implementing strategies to achieve budgeted production and commercial targets Managing the process of developing improvements to the Geology, Geotechnical, Mining, and Surveying management methods, and systems Ensure the accuracy of mine plans to allow all operational activities to be delivered to contract specifications Working closely with the maintenance team with scheduled servicing plans and identifying issues that impact production Identifying and acting upon continuous improvement opportunities in the technical service area Assisting to achieve project KPIs and setting of objectives and KPIs for work teams Assisting accountants with accrual information for end of month closure. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's of Science in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or another similar field 10+ years of experience at operating mines, primarily in underground environments 5+ years of experience managing Technical Professionals Experience with Deswik, Maptek Vulcan, and Leapfrog preferred Competent with Microsoft software packages Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills

HSEC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Specifically, all employees must: Accept personal responsibility for HSEC Identify hazards, unsafe actions, and conditions that could result in damage to property, injury, impacts to the environment, and the community Obey any instruction issued to protect their own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others, protection of the environment and the community. Report, as soon as practicable to their Manager any situations where HSEC requirements are not being conformed to within their work area Avoid endangerment to any other person through any act or omission Only use equipment you are trained to use and operate the equipment in a way that is safe, protects the environment and doesn't cause undue community impacts. Participate in HSEC training provided to them Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
