Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Foreman to lead field crews on earthwork and heavy civil construction projects in the Erie area, including excavation, grading, site development, and underground utility installation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating heavy equipment, supervising crews, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
Foreman Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead field crews in excavation, grading, trenching, and utility installation. Coordinate daily tasks, equipment, and manpower to meet project schedules and production goals. Read and interpret plans, specifications, and grade stakes to ensure work is performed accurately. Enforce safety standards, site rules, and company policies ; conduct daily safety meetings. Monitor quality of work, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions to keep production on track. Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to align field operations. Assist with equipment operation, layout, and site preparation as needed. Maintain accurate daily reports on manpower, equipment, quantities, and progress.
Qualifications:
5+ years of field experience in earthwork, site development, or heavy civil construction, including 2+ years in a leadership role . Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, trench safety, and underground utilities . Ability to read blueprints, site plans, and survey stakes . Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation (excavators, dozers, loaders, etc.). Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. OSHA 30 (preferred) or OSHA 10 with willingness to obtain additional safety certifications.
