Non-Profit Area Director (District Executive) Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of America. Serving the Communities of Albertville, Boaz, Fort Payne, Scottsboro, Guntersville, and Surrounding Communities.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and community-minded professional to serve as a District Executive. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, recruiting, leadership development, community engagement, and making a meaningful impact. The District Executive serves as the primary professional representative of Scouting America within the district. This individual works alongside volunteers and community leaders to grow Scouting programs, recruit youth and adult leaders, support fundraising efforts, and strengthen relationships throughout the community. Compensation & Benefits Salary is $42,000 Auto Allowance $5,400 ($450 a month, plus .17c a mile) Cell Phone reimbursement of up to $90 a month Flexible schedule with 12 vacation days and 13 paid holidays Full benefits and opportunities for career advancement. Responsibilities The position serves as a director over our programs in the Northeast Alabama area.

In this position you will:

Work with a volunteer board of directors and other community and business leaders to identify, recruit, train, guide, and inspire them to become involved. Partner with community leaders, schools, churches, civic organizations, and local businesses to expand Scouting opportunities. Recruit, develop, and support volunteer leaders while helping volunteers achieve district goals. Develop relationships throughout the community and serve as a visible ambassador for Scouting America. Promote the mission and impact of Scouting to families, community partners, and donors. Strengthen relationships with chartered organizations and identify opportunities for growth and partnership. Promote participation in camps, training programs, and district and council activities that provide exceptional experiences for youth. Provide quality service through timely communication, regular meetings, training events and activities.

Ideal Candidate:

Must be comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse audiences. Self-motivated individual with solid time management skills, strong organizational skills and able to manage multiple priorities. A natural relationship builder in order to work well with adult volunteers, community and business leaders, representatives of other organizations and comfortable meeting and speaking with new people every day. A positive representative of the Scouting movement and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. Non-profit, fundraising, sales or marketing experience is a plus.

Requirements:

Must be willing to accept and meet the Scouting America's leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law. Candidates must live in or near the counties served by the position. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Have a willingness and ability to work varied hours when necessary. Evening activities and weekend work is often required to achieve positive objectives. Ability to travel for a week-long training at least once a year. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Proficient in Microsoft Work, Outlook, and Excel. Offers of employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks. Upon completion of training a commissioned professional Scouting background is required for the position.
