Part-Time Bookeeper Community Church of DeBary DeBary, FL Job Details Part-time $18 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Accurate transaction records management Attention to detail QuickBooks Organizational skills Performing background checks Full Job Description Job Overview Community Church of DeBary is seeking a part-time Treasurer/Bookkeeper to manage financial records, payroll, and reporting. $18.00 - $22.00/hr, PTO included. On-site role supporting a nondenominational church with a Wesleyan foundation. This part-time, on-site role is responsible for the oversight and management of the church's financial records, including the preschool and endowment accounts. The Bookeeper works closely with the Finance Team Chairperson and reports directly to the Senior Pastor, helping ensure financial integrity, transparency, and compliance across all ministry operations. Compensation & Benefits $18.00 to $22.00per hour , based on experience Paid Time Off (PTO) Key Responsibilities Manage books and financial records for the church, preschool, and endowment accounts Oversee the general ledger, financial statements, accounts payable, income, and payroll Process bi-weekly payroll for church and preschool staff Prepare quarterly payroll tax filings and annual reporting, including W-2s Maintain personnel and tax documentation Ensure all financial transactions are properly authorized and policy-compliant Work closely with an outsourced bookkeeping provider and submit required data Communicate financial policy updates to the bookkeeping provider Assist with annual budget preparation Provide quarterly giving statements and communicate with first-time and memorial donors Participate in Finance Team meetings to review reports and support financial decision-making Qualifications & Skills Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures Full-charge bookkeeping experience preferred Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with staff and volunteers Professional communication skills Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion Experience with financial software and payroll systems preferred Faith & Organizational Culture Community Church of DeBary is a nondenominational congregation with a Wesleyan theological foundation. Staff members are expected to support the mission, values, and ministries of the church and demonstrate a personal commitment to Christian faith and conduct.
