Job Description

Overview:
The Executive Director is responsible for carrying out the purposes, policies, and programs of Cherished Hearts Child Advocacy Center (CHCAC) to meet its mission, as determined by the Board of Directors. While assuring a smooth work environment for day-to-day CAC activities, the Executive Director works with the CAC leadership, staff, and board to plan and implement programs, marketing strategies, and assures the goals of the organization are met. The Executive Director also oversees the smooth operation of accounting/finance, facility maintenance, and IT functions of the agency including the management of staff and associated vendors/contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Executive Director is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
Administrative/Management Responsibilities:
Provides general oversight of all CHCAC activities and day-to-day operations. Is responsible for recruiting, retaining, supporting, and releasing personnel. Assures the process for selecting, developing, motivating, and evaluating staff. Maintains a welcoming and safe facility that minimizes trauma associated with handling cases of child abuse. Functions as custodian of records, maintaining all documents necessary to fulfill legal and regulatory requirements. Works cooperatively with Board of Directors and committees for governance of CHCAC, implementing all policies as determined by the Board. Attends and assists in development of agendas for Board and Committee meetings. Assures an effective fund development plan, to include grants, fund-raising efforts, and other sources of income, in conjunction with the Board of Directors. Manages the development and oversight of the annual budget process in collaboration with board, staff, and accounting firm. Develops with input from the Finance Committee the annual budgets and financial procedures for the Center. Ensures that CHCAC operates within budget guidelines. Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field. Inform the Board of developments that could impact CHCAC. Establishes sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with state, national, and regional centers.
Program Responsibilities:
Creates, implements, and manages the personnel evaluation process. Ensures legal and ethical compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations with hiring, terminating and performance management protocols. Works with the Outreach Coordinator and to locate opportunities for funds and assist in writing grant proposals. Provides leadership in developing programs and organizational plans with the Board of Directors and staff of CHCAC. Oversee the implementation of accepted program plans and strategies. Oversee the coordination of a multidisciplinary team approach to child abuse investigations, while maintaining positive relationships with the MDT leadership. Provides community awareness and training related to child abuse.
Facility Management Responsibilities:
Responsible for facility management and on-going facility development. Oversees and ensures the proper operation, care, and replacement of all property of agency technology, equipment, furniture, buildings, etc. Maintains documents to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local grantor requirements. Volunteer Support Assist with procuring and supporting volunteers for the organization, ensuring that volunteer tasks are meaningful, professionally executed in a safe and appropriate environment with well articulated directions. Maintains a volunteer pool file.
Qualifications:
Master's degree with equivalent experience in public administration, social work, communications, or related field required. At least 5 years of management experience. Advanced knowledge of child abuse dynamics and child development Ability to prioritize, organize and problem-solving skills Strong time/personal management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrate discretion, maturity, integrity, and compassion in handling sensitive issues. Effective written, communication and verbal skills; communicate with people from the MDT. Flexible nature and ability to work under pressure and manage shifting priorities under competing deadlines. Ability to think creatively and strategically, have excellent judgment and be able to work in a changing environment. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Salary is based on experience.

From $75,000.00 per year
